PART 1

 

 

~Hitomi POV~

 

You walk outside the Airport into the bright sunshine. You were waiting for your cousin Ryou to come and pick you up. You hadn't seen Ryou since you were three, and you were excited to get to spend an entire year with him.

 

"Where could Ryou be?" You asked yourself. You sat on the small purple suitcase and drummed your fingers.

 

Suddenly, a guy on a motercycle stopped right in front of you. He pulled off his helmet and smiled at you.

 

"Ryou!" you say, flinging your arms around your blonde cousin's neck. [A/N: you're speaking in english (I'll tell you when you're speaking in japanese)]

 

"It's good to see you too, Hitomi." Ryou said, picking up your suitcase and tieing it onto the back of his motercycle. "How long has it been since I saw you last?"

 

"About 11 years, I think." you reply, sitting behind Ryou on the motercycle. "In your letter you said something about letting me work at the cafe?"

 

"Yeah, as long as you're here, you might as well have something to do." Ryou said, turning on the motorcycle. "Now hold on,"

"Wow! It's so beautiful!" you exclaim, standing in front of the cafe.

 

"Oh, Hitomi, it's been a long time." Keiichiro said, walking out to greet you. "How was your flight?"

 

"Good, thank you." you reply, allowing him to take your suitcase. "I was able to finish reading that book you sent me for my birthday, you know, the one about the girl in India who was married to a guy that died after a couple months and her evil mother-in-law abandoned her in that weird city where she met a rickshaw boy who ended up marrying her in the end."

 

"Ah, yes, Homeless Bird. I thought you might enjoy that book." He said with a smile.

 

"So..." you say in a curious/playful tone. "got any new creations for me to try while I'm here?"

 

He laughed, "You never change, do you Hitomi?"

 

I smiled as he opened up a door on the second floor, which you assumed was to be your room. He put your suitcase by the dresser and you collapsed on the bed.

 

"If you need anything Hitomi, you can ask either me or Ryou." Keiichiro said before he headed back downstairs.

 

You walked over to the window and opened it. The cool breeze felt nice after being cooped up for so long at home. You unpacked and brought out your diary. You sat down at the desk and opened your diary to the next blank page.

 

Dear Diary,

          Today I took a trip to Japan to spend a year with my cousin, Ryou Shirogane. The last time I saw Ryou was when I was three. He's a year older than me, so that makes him 15. I don't know what to expect, but I just have this weird feeling that something good is going to happen while I'm here. I plan to make some friends at school this weekend. Well, now I have an entire year to spend with Ryou in Japan!

                             

                                        ~Hitomi

 

You closed your diary and walked downstairs. Ryou was in the kitchen talking with Keiichiro.

 

"Hi Hitomi, get all settled in?" Ryou asked.

 

"Yeah, I think I'm going to like being here in Japan." you reply.

 

"Hey, Hitomi, Ryou and I got you something." Keiichiro said. "It's in the changing room."

 

You turn back and go into the changing room. You see an adorable white maids uniform with black accents on it. You quickly change into it and scream.

 

"This outfit is so CUTE!"

 

You walked out and gave Ryou and Keiichiro a big hug.

 

"Thank you! Thank you!"

 

"Um, are we interrupting something?" came a voice from behind you.

 

You let go of Ryou and blush. You turn to see five girls standing at the door to the kitchen. One of them had dark red hair, another had black hair, one with dark green, one with yellow, and the last one with purple.

 

"Ryou, who are these people?" you whisper to Ryou.

 

"They work here too," he answered. "This is Ichigo, Mint, Lettuce, Pudding, and Zakuro."

 

"Hi, nice to meet you." They reply in japanese. [A/N: the rest is in japanese]

 

"Um, hi." you say. "My name's Hitomi, Kimura Hitomi."

 

"Nice to meet you Hitomi." Ichigo said.

 

"Are you a new member?" Lettuce asked.

 

"Member...?" you ask blankly, turning to Ryou.

 

"Oh, no. Hitomi's my cousin. She's visiting for a year." Ryou said.

 

Ryou shooed them out of the room and told them to go change. He turned to you. "Why don't you go back upstairs and get some rest." he said.

 

"Alright, I will, thanks again for the uniform." you say, running back up the stairs.

 

You change out of your uniform and hang it up in your closet. You laid down on the bed and tried to close your eyes, but you were too excited to go to sleep. So, you slowly crept out the open window and decided to explore the park instead.

 

You walked around the beautiful park and came across a cherry blossom tree that was in bloom...surrounded by other cherry blossoms that weren't in bloom.

 

"That's strange...I want to check it out." you say to yourself, walking up to the tree.

 

You look for a low branch and begin to climb up the tree. You climb up to the very top and gaze at the wonderful view.

 

"Who knew that Tokyo would be so pretty?" you sigh.

 

Suddenly, you feel an earthquake. You see a large snake-like monster appear next to the non-blooming cherry blossoms around you. You didn't know where it came from, but you didn't want to be anywhere near it. You were going to climb down and run back to the cafe, when something wrapped around your legs. You looked down and saw that the tail of the monster was wrapping around your body, slowly creeping up from your legs.

 

"Let me go!" you yell, but the tail continued to wind it's way up your body. It held your arms to your chest and was wraping around your neck. "Someone! Hel-" the tail covered your mouth.

 

The snake pulled you out of the tree and held you up in the air. You were frightened and didn't know what to do. You closed your eyes, thinking that it might help you to calm down.

 

"What's that?!" you hear someone yell.

 

Your eyes shot open and you saw five girls, one in pink, one in blue, one in green, one in yellow and orange, and another in purple, standing in front of the snake. The snake lowered you down and out of sight, but didn't release you.

 

"What's it hiding?" came a small voice that sounded familiar.

 

"Maybe it's guarding the Mew Aqua!" came another familar voice.

 

"Whatever it's doing, I'm not going to just stand by and ignore it. Ribbon Strawberry..." came Ichigo's voice.

 

"Ah, ah, ah. I wouldn't do that if I were you Kitty-Cat." came an unfamilar voice.

 

"What are you talking about Kishu?" Ichigo said.

 

The snake pulled you back up and the five girls gasp. You see a boy floating in the air above the cherry blossom tree you were just in.

 

"See, I've got a hostage, and if you attack, then she might die." he said.

 

"Why you..." Ichigo said. [A/N: you realize by looking at them long enough that the girls are the same girls from earlier at the cafe.]

 

"Let her go right now Kishu!" Zakuro yelled.

 

"Not until I've gotten the Mew Aqua." the boy replied.

 

The snake tightened its grip on you and you let out a muffled scream. You began to struggle against the snake's grip, but the more you struggled, the tighter its grip became. Soon you could hardly breath and became light-headed. Then you lost consiousness completely.

When you woke up, you were lying in your bed back at the cafe. You sat up and rubbed your head.

 

"Was that all a dream?" you ask yourself, getting up and sitting on the open window's ledge.

 

You didn't know if it was a dream or not, but whatever it was...you knew that Ryou and those girls that work at the cafe knew about it.

 

~The Next Day~

 

"RYOU!" you yell, running up the stairs. "I know your in there!"

 

No answer.

 

You sighed. You wanted to get some answers as to what happened yesterday. You slowly open the door a little and see Ryou leaning on the windowsill...half-dressed in only his pants!

 

"Um, Ryou?" you asked, walking in his room, blushing a light red.

 

"Hn? What is it Hitomi?" He asked, drying off his hair with a towel.

 

"Um, well, something strange happened yesterday and I...well, I um," you say, feeling a little embarrased that you were about to ask something so stupid to your cousin. "I was wondering if you would know anything about it."

 

"Yesterday? Well, I went up there to check on you and you were fast asleep on the bed." Ryou said.

 

"Thank goodness, it was only a dream." You said, wrapping your arms around Ryou's chest, he blushed, yet returned the hug.

 

"SHIROGANE!"

 

Ichigo stormed into the room. She saw you and Ryou hugging and blushed a deep scarlet.

 

"G-Gomen nasi!" she said, but you and Ryou broke apart and you shook your head.

 

"No, that's okay, I was just asking Ryou about something." you say, rushing out of the room.

 

~After School~

 

You put your shoes in your locker and walked out of school. You stopped at the gate and wondered if you should go back to the park or not. You decide not to, but to go for a walk around town instead.

 

You walked around town, looking at all the cute things in the windows. You thought about your friends back home and how they would have loved to come with you. You walked into a small crafts store to see if there was anything interesting that you could get that you could do during your free time.

 

"Aw, this looks cute." you say, picking up a stuffed-bear making kit. You decided to get it and walked over to the cashier.

 

"You're the fifth person today to buy one of these." the lady said as you paid for the kit. "They say that if you make a teddy bear, name it after yourself and give it to someone that you have a crush on, then it will bring you good luck."

 

"Really? That's interesting," you say. "Thank you."

 

You walk out of the store and head back to the cafe. You think hard about what the lady said.

 

'Will it really bring good luck to do such a thing? Well, like the saying goes, nothing ventured, nothing gained.'

 

"I'm back!"

 

"Where did you run off to?" Ryou asked.

 

"I just wanted to look around a bit." you answer. "And I bought this cute teddy bear making kit."

 

"Just letting you know, we talked about your work schedule and you'll be working Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Got it?" Ryou said.

 

You nodded and ran up the stairs to your room. Today was Thursday, so you didn't have to work. You opened the window and climbed out with your bag. You ran over to the cherry blossom tree that you "thought" you were in yesterday. You climb up into the tree and pull out the kit.

 

"This is the perfect place to make a teddy bear for someone." you say to yourself, opening the box.

 

You read the instructions and began making the teddy bear. You were able to finish making the body and smiled. You looked at your watch and saw that it was already 6:30! You quickly put the kit back in your bag and climbed out of the tree.

 

"Ryou's gonna kill me!" you say to yourself as you climb into your room. You threw your bag on the bed and ran down to eat dinner with Ryou and Keiichiro.

 

~Later that Night~

 

You sit on the windowsill and stare up at the nearly full moon. You pull out your book and started reading. You loved sitting by the window at night reading your books, it was something that was kinda like a tradtion to do everynight.

 

"I wonder what mom and dad are doing." you say after a while, closing your book. "I sure do miss them..."

 

You opened up your book again and continued reading. You read for about five minutes before you were overcome with sleep.

 

~Dream~

 

You're swimming in the ocean, alongside a school of whales. Actually, you were riding on one of the whales! Normally, you were scared of the ocean because one time when you were three, before you moved to America, you'd almost drowned. But Ryou had saved you before it was too late. Anyway, you're swimming with these whales and you're happy. You just can't believe that the ocean was so beautiful. You were enjoying yourself when you suddenly were unable to breath. You choke on the salt water and try to swim to the surface, but can't move...and slowly you sink to the bottom of the ocean.

 

You're eyes shot open and you sit upright. Your face was damp with sweat and you felt as though you had been swimming in the ocean just now. You go into the bathroom and pour yourself a glass of water. After you drank it, you tried to go back to sleep.

 

~Next Day~

 

You crept quietly into Ryou's room. It was 6:30 and you wanted to see if you could wake up your cousin.

 

"WAKE UP RYOU!" You cry, jumping on top of your sleeping cousin. He immediately woke up and sat up, knocking you to the floor. You rub your bottom as Ryou looked at you angrily.

 

"What was that for?!" he asked angrily.

 

"I just wanted to wake you up, that's all." you say, adjusting your uniform. "Also because I wanted you to walk me to school today."

 

"What are you, five?" he asked, getting dressed himself.

 

"Maybe..." you giggle. "Come on, just do it. Please...for me." you added, giving him the puppy-dog pout you learned fro your friends back home.

 

"Alright, alright. I'll do it! Just stop with the eyes already!" he said.

 

You smiled and walked downstairs. You munched on a piece of toast as you waited for Ryou to come downstairs, then you both head out the door. You wraped one arm around his arm and leaned your head against his shoulder as you walked toward your school.

 

"Ryou...I'm so glad I get to see you again." you say in a happy tone. "And I just want you to know that I'm glad you're my cousin."

 

You walked in silence for a few minutes before he replied, "I'm glad that you're my cousin too, Hitomi, and I just want you to know that I will always be there when you need me."

 

Your smile widened as you reach the school. You kiss your cousin on the check before running off to class...but you didn't know that something was going to happen that afternoon that was going to change everything.

 

 

 

Part 2

 

~After School~*~Hitomi POV~

 

You walked through the park on the way home. You and Ichigo were talking about plans for the weekend when you spotted something, or someone, floating above of you.

 

"Hey Ichigo, w-what's that?" you ask, pointing to the figure. She turns around and gasps. "What is it?"

 

"N-Nothing, come on we're gonna be late." she said, grabbing your arm and pulling you toward the cafe.

 

You look back at the figure and see that it's following you. You wondered what it was and why Ichigo was running from it. Just before you reached the cafe, however, you heard the figure laughing and felt something grab your other arm. You didn't turn around to see what it was because you were afraid that it was something like what had happened the day before.

 

"Kishu, let her go!" Ichigo said, yanking hard on your arm.

 

"I'm not bothering you Koneko-chan, so back off." Kishu replied, pulling your other arm.

 

You yanked your arm away from Kishu and hide behind Ichigo. You see that Kishu was the boy from the other day that had called you his hostage. Even though he seemed evil, there was something about him that made you think otherwise.

 

"Hitomi, you need to get out of here, now!" Ichigo said. You nodded and turn to head to the cafe.

 

Before you could even get halfway to the cafe, something caught you by your ankles. You looked down to see vines coming out of the ground that were winding around your ankles. You pulled and struggled to free yourself, but then you're blinded by a bright light. You shot up to see Mew Ichigo standing in front of Kishu.

 

The air in front of you shimmers and another alien appears. This one is short and has brown hair in pigtails. You struggled more frantically and he laughed at you.

 

"I can see that you've got a pure heart. I guess Kishu can be right once in a while." he said with a smirk. "Oiy, Kishu! This the one?"

 

"Yeah, she's the one." Kihsu replied, fighting against Ichigo with his swords. "Get her heart!"

 

"Okay," the little alien replied.

 

He turned to you and raised his hand. It started glowing and a sharp pain filled your chest. You grabbed your heart, which felt like it was trying to be removed from your body. You closed your eyes and bit your lip, trying not to scream out in pain and show weakness. You sank to your knees due to the pain and could hold back no longer. You yelled loudly and the back of your uniform became torn, but only down your back.

 

"Kishu! What are you doing to her?!" she asked the green-haired alien.

 

"Ribbon Zakuro Spear!"

 

The pain suddenly stopped and you collapsed on your stomach on top of the soft grass. Whoever was trying to pull out your heart had just been attacked or something. You could hardly move, and your back was burning. You opened your eyes and saw the girls from the other day running over to you and Ichigo. The green one bent down next to you.

 

"Are you alright?" she asked.

 

"Yeah, I-I'm fine, but what are you?" you ask.

 

"We're Tokyo Mew Mew, and those are the evil aliens that are trying to take over the earth." she replied. "And don't worry, I'll protect you from them."

 

"B-But what about...never mind." you say, deciding to ask questions later. You tried again to move, but found that you could not.

 

"Taruto, we'll need to try again later." Kishu said. "Come on, let's go."

 

Together the aliens disappeared. The other four girls ran over to you. The purple one helped you to sit up and everyone, except for the purple one, gasped.

 

"What in the world is this?" Mint asked.

 

"Could it mean that she is a member?" Lettuce asked.

 

"I think we'd better bring her to Ryou and ask him." Zakuro said, lifting you up and carrying you back to the cafe in her arms.

 

"Shirogane, we've got a HUGE problem!" Ichigo yelled as Zakuro laid you down on the long metal table in the computer room. Ryou and Keiichiro came running into the room.

 

"What is it?" Ryou asked.

 

"What happened?" Keiichiro asked.

 

"Take a look at Hitomi's back." Mint said.

 

Ryou helped you sit up and looked at your back. You didn't know what everyone was so worried about, but you were too afraid to ask.

 

"T-This can't be! She can't be one of you!" Ryou said.

 

"W-What is it?" you manage to ask, hoping that you weren't going to regret asking it.

 

Keiichiro gave you a mirror and you saw through it by him putting another one behind you that on your back, there was a black whale that covered almost your entire back. You sighed and gave a weak laugh.

 

"And so the confusion of my life just gets more and more complicated."

 

"But this makes absolutely no sense at all!" Ryou said. "I was positive that there were only five Mews, not six! And how in the world did it get all the way to America from here?"

 

"Who cares? I kinda think it's cool...what?!" you say. "Why are you looking at me like I'm some kind of maniac?"

 

"Nevermind...but you're gonna have to be a bit more careful from now on." Ryou said.

 

"But I don't even know what a Mew Mew is." you say.

 

"I'll explain everything to you later Mimi." Ryou said in english. Everyone except for Zakuro and Keiichiro gave him questioning looks.

 

A tear formed in your eye and you ran out of the room.

 

~Zakuro POV~

 

Hitomi's eyes filled with tears and she ran out of the room. Everyone looked at Ryou quizically.

 

"Why did Hitomi-san rush out like that?" Mint asked.

 

"I don't know, all I did was call her by the nickname her brother and I gave her when we were little." Ryou said shrugging his shoulders. He made to follow her but you stop him.

 

"Maybe it would be best if I spoke to her." you say.

 

He hesitates, but gives you a smile. "Arigato, Zakuro-san."

 

~Hitomi POV~

 

You sit on the balcony rail, trying hard to choke back tears. You hear your bedroom door open but don't look to see who it was. You see Zakuro sit down next to you and the full moon shines upon you both.

 

"What do you want?" you ask, still trying to choke back the tears.

 

"I just wanted to talk to you, that's all." Zakuro said, putting one arm around your shoulders. "Now, what's making you so sad?"

 

"N-Nothing...it's just that my...*sniff*...my onii-chan past away a couple months ago...*sniff*...and when we were little, before we moved to America, he and Ryou started calling me Mimi..." you say, as a tear escapes your eyes and rolls down your face. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't be crying. I mean, I don't want to cry b-because it's like showing a s-sign of weakness."

 

"There are times when it is right to cry, but there is never a time when it is right to hold tears back." Zakuro said. "This is one of those times where it's better to cry."

 

You understand what Zakuro said and allowed your tears to come. You were grateful that Zakuro was helping you like a sister more than a person she just met. You cried for a long time, and through all of that time, not once did Zakuro leave your side.

 

~The Next Day~

 

"Ohayo," you yawn, walking into the kitchen.

 

"Are you feeling better?" Keiichiro asked.

 

"Yeah, I just...never mind." you say. You grab a piece of toast and run upstairs. You grab your bag and climb out the window. You climbed up the cherry blossom tree and pull out the teddy bear kit. So far, you'd only made the body and the arms and legs. All you had to do now was the head.

 

"I should be able to finish it today." you say to yourself proudly.

 

~FF>>~*~1 Hour Later~

 

"There! It's finally done!" you sigh, holding the teddy bear at arms length so you could look at it and check for any errors. "What did that lady at the store tell me again...oh yeah! 'If you hand-make a teddy bear and name it after yourself, and give it to someone you have a crush on, it's supposed to bring good luck.'...Who can I give it to?"

 

You ponder this thought for a moment then think of something. You look up and see a small hole a little farther up in the tree that you could put your bear in.

 

"I'll stick it right here and when I find someone to give it to, I'll tell him to come up here and get it." you say with a smile, gently putting the bear in the hole.

 

Once you put it in there, you hear a playful laugh behind you. You turn around and loose your balance. You slip and begin to fall out of the tree... but something grabbed your hand. You look up to see golden cat-like eyes that could only belong to one person: Kishu.

 

"Need a hand?" he asked.

 

"N-No! Not from you!" You say, looking away from his golden eyes. "Let me go!"

 

"You know if I let go you're gonna fall right?" he asked.

 

"I don't care! Just let me go!" you yell, struggling to free yourself.

 

"Fine, but first I'm gonna show you something." He said, and he teleported you to the top of Tokyo Tower. He releases you and you land shakily on your feet.

 

"Why'd you bring me here?!" you ask frustrated, backing against the Tower so you wouldn't fall off the edge.

 

"Because I felt like it." He shrugged. He cupped your head and leaned in close. He was about to kiss you when you kicked him hard in the stomach.

 

"What are you doing?!" you yell, stepping away from him. "I just met you!"

 

"Well, it's either you kiss me, or I'll have to kill you." he said, and a sword appeared in his hand. He grabbed your wrist and pushed you against the wall, holding the sword at your neck.

 

You gulped and starred into his golden eyes. You didn't want to kiss him, but you also didn't want to die. A tear slides down your face and you look at Kishu hopelessly. He smirked and the sword disappeared.

 

"That's more like it." He said. You closed your eyes as he grabbed your other wrist to make sure that you didn't try to run away. But instead of feeling his lips press against yours, you feel him release your wrists.

 

You open your eyes and see that Kishu got attacked by Zakuro. You slowly sank to your knees and place your hand over your mouth and felt relieved that Zakuro had come when she did. A second later and you would have given away your first kiss.

 

"Are you alright Hitomi?" Zakuro asked, helping you up.

 

"Yeah, I'm fine." you say. "Thanks for saving me."

 

"I'll be back!" Kishu called before he evaporated.

 

"Yeah, and next time, I'll be ready!" you reply, after he left.

 

~That Night~

 

"You're not being fair Ryou!" you whine, stamping your foot.

 

"I'm being perfectly fair!" He retorted. "I said you're not to go out on your own again and that's final!"

 

You pouted as he shut your window and sat in front of it. All you did was ask to go out on your own for a little and Ryou suddenly got all older-brother on you. You scowled as you picked up your hair brush.

 

"Can I at least brush my hair out on the balcony?" you ask.

 

"Fine, but I'm watching you." he replied, allowing you to walk outside.

 

You walked to the balcony and sat on the railing. You ran the brush through your hair and began to hum to yourself. You had a habit of singing when you brushed your hair, but you didn't like to sing in front of Ryou. But soon, the urge was too great, you needed to sing.

 

Listen to Your Heart

When you finished singing, you placed the brush down on the railing and lowered your head. It'd been a long, long time since you'd sang that song...you couldn't believe that you still remembered it after all this time. Ryou placed a hand on your shoulder and you looked up at him.

 

"Hitomi, I remember when you used to sing that song to your brother and I when we were little." Ryou said. "You learned the song when you were only three and you were so proud of yourself that you would sing it for your brother and I practically every night."

 

"But now Kito-onii-chan is...is...he's dead!" you cried, burrying your face in Ryou's shirt. See, you, Ryou, and Kito (your older brother), had been really close. You'd grown up together and hated it when you were separated. But Ryou never found out that Kito had died...because no one wanted to tell him.

 

Ryou wrapped his arms around you and leaned his head on top of yours. You cried for a minute then collected yourself.

 

"But that's okay...because he's in heaven with your parents. Right?"

 

Ryou hesitated then answered, "Yeah, they're probably all watching us right now."

 

You pick up your hair brush and climb back in the window. Ryou follows you and watches you curiously as you dig something out of your drawer. You pull out a small golden, heart-shaped locket with the initials HK on it. You open it and show it to Ryou.

 

"See? This is what my brother gave me for my third birthday, remember?" you said, pointing to the picture of you, Ryou, and your brother on one side. "And this is your mom and dad and our mom and dad." you point to the other picture.

 

"That was a long time ago though." He sighed, closing the locket and putting it around your neck. "And I don't ever want to see you take this off, alright? Promise me that you'll never take it off."

 

"I promise." you say, gently squeezing his hand.

 

"Oh wait, I almost forgot." Ryou said, pulling out a little golden bell from his pocket. "Before you 'never take it off', let me put this bell on it. That way I'll know where you are." he said, fixing the bell onto the necklace.

 

~Dream~

You're swimming alongside the whales again...except this time, you're body is glowing. you look behind you and see that you're kinda like a mermaid, except your tail is like the killer whale's tail. The whales begin to cry and you understand what they're trying to say. But before you could understand any more than two seconds of it, you're surrounded by darkness.

 

A voice is laughing from nowhere...your body still glowing...a hand reaches out and grabs your neck. Someone's trying to strangle you. You're gasping for breath, crying out in pain as the hand's grip gets tighter and tighter. You struggle against it but find that you are helpless with a whale's tail and no weapon.

 

"...Hitomi! Hitomi wake up!"

 

~End Dream~

 

You shot up, but banged heads with Ryou. You were lying on the floor of your room beside the bed, tangled up in your sheets. Ryou was fully dressed and you wondered what time it was.

 

"Sheesh, next time, don't sit up so quickly." Ryou said, rubbing his head.

 

"Well then, next time don't try to wake me up like that!' you retort, rubbing your own head. "What time is it?"

 

"Don't worry, it's 6:30, you're fine." he replied, getting to his feet. "You looked like you were having a nightmare, so I tried to wake you up."

 

"Oh, yeah, I guess I was..." you reply, untangling yourself and getting to your feet. You looked up to see Ryou looking at you concerned. "Stop looking at me like that!"

 

You push him out of the room and quickly get dressed. Instead of going downstairs, however, you climb out the window and ran through the park toward the cherry blossom tree. You climbed up to the spot where you'd hidden the teddy bear...only to find that it was gone. You hear Kishu's familar laughter above you and turn to see him holding your bear.

 

"Kishu, give me that! That's mine!" you yell.

 

"No it's not, it's mine!" he yelled back. "I found it in that tree, so that means it's mine."

 

"I put it there for a reason now give it back!"

 

"I will...on one condition." he said slyly.

 

"Forget it, I'll just make another one." you mumble to yourself, climbing out of the tree.

 

You walk out of the park, Kishu following you, and head over to Ichigo's house. You could hear Kishu snickering behind you. You stop and turn around to face him.

 

"Just what is so funny?!" you ask furiously.

 

"What I'm about to do." Kishu replied, swooping down to you.

 

You dodge him and grab the bear back from his hand. You stash it into your bag as Kishu turned around. A sword appeared in his hand and you backed up against the wall.

 

"Come on, don't make this hard." he said, stepping forward. "All I need is you to come along with me."

 

"Why should I? You're the enemy!" you say.

 

The ground shakes and a Kimera Anima appears behind Kishu. You try to run away, but Kishu grabs your arm. You struggle to get away when Ichigo and the other Mew Mews appear.

 

"Kishu, let Hitomi go!" Ichigo said.

 

"I'm alright Ichigo, just get rid of that Kimera Anima!" you protest, trying to pull your arm free.

 

"Are you sure?" Lettuce asked.

 

"You're wasting time! Forget about me, just stop that thing from destroying everything!" you yell.

 

They stare at you but then turn to attack the Kimera Anima. As you struggled, Kishu smirked. He grabbed your other arm and lifted you off the ground.

 

"Put me down right now!" you yelled, trying to kick him in the stomach.

 

He dodged and threw you down. You fell onto your back but immediately got up. The Kimera Anima was beating the living daylights out of the Mew Mews. You suddenly knew what you had to do. As Kishu floated in front of you, you looked at the ground.

 

"Kishu..." you say softly.

 

"Yes?" Kishu replied.

 

"Kishu, I'll...I'll...I'll go with you." you say louder than before.

 

Everyone, except Kishu, stopped and stared at you. Kishu just smirked and said, "Really? You'll come along without me needing to force you?"

 

You nodd and walk toward him.

 

"Hitomi don't do it!" Ichigo yelled.

 

"He's the enemy!" Lettuce added.

 

"You can't do it!" Mint called.

 

You ignored them and stood right in front of Kishu. He put his arms around you and you did the same to him. A soft tear falls down your face as he evaporates with you.

 

~Ichigo POV~

 

She ignored your pleas and warnings and stood in front of Kishu. He put his arms around her and, to your surprise, she did the same. Kishu smirked and evaporated with her. What caught your attention was that a small teddy bear fell out of Hitomi's bag when Kishu evaporated with her.

 

As Kishu disappeared, the Kimera Anima did too. You rush over and pick up the little bear. You studied it and saw that it was handmade. Its delicate details impressed you.

 

"What's that?" Zakuro asked coming over to you.

 

"It fell out of Hitomi's bag when Kishu took her with him." you say as the others walk over to you.

 

"Why was she carrying that around with her though?" Mint asked.

 

"I don't know, but it looks like she made it herself." you reply.

 

"Anyway, we'd better get back to the cafe and tell Ryou and Keiichiro about all this." Zakuro said.

 

~Cafe Mew Mew~

 

"I don't believe you!" Ryou yelled. You'd just told him about Hitomi and how she willingly went with Kishu. "There's just no way that Hitomi-san would do that!"
